During his career, David has received 3 Academy Award™ nominations for his work on The Nutty Professor, Men in Black and Cinderella Man. Of the three, he and Rick Baker won back-to-back Academy Awards for Best Make-Up for The Nutty Professor and Men In Black. In addition, David has received 6 Emmy™ nominations, including two wins for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or a Special for his work on American Horror Story: Freak Show and Roanoke.
